About Me.

Welcome! Learn more about me!

Profile2_edited.jpg

Hello! My name is Marianne Claire Villanueva and I am from everywhere. I grew up in three different countries: the Philippines, Ireland, and the US. After graduating from Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, TX, I have always considered Fort Worth, TX as my hometown.

Growing up, I was fascinated by science. My passion for science grew when I joined the Biomedical Sciences Academy at my high school. However, my passion for education did not develop until I joined UTeach in college. My brother, Shaun, had the largest impact on my passion for education. Shaun is less than 2 yrs older than me and is on the spectrum. Moving to a different school every 3 years caused Shaun and I to be placed in the same grade. As a student, I experienced the disparities in education between schools and between me and my brother. Taking pedagogy classes through UTeach and autism classes through my human biology degree gave me a better understanding of these differences through a scientific and educational lens.

I decided to combine my science background and my passion for education to help close these disparities in the classroom and hopefully on a larger scale in the future. I am a leader, mentor, and educator. I hope to bring my experience and skills to positively impact my community and future generations to come.
